What:

  1. Defining current

    • Target segment: TAM, willingness to pay, lifecycle, ease of serving, sub segments

    • Problem: painfulness, existing user solutions, evidence

    • Competitors, their value-prop, advantages, gaps, target segments

    • Team: strengths and weaknesses

    • Solution: feasibility, effectiveness, cost and time to build, differentiation

    • If relevant, value-chain, marketplace

  2. Framing and evaluating current value prop with recommendation

How:

  1. Kickoff and discovery call for first-level understanding

  2. Workshop to define each piece as it currently stands

  3. Discussion, evaluation and recommendations for value-prop and strategy

  4. Discussion and recommendations to refine solution, if needed

Step 2: feature-set analysis

What:

  1. Defining the basic user funnel/journey for primary segment to gain desired value

  2. Connecting the value prop to the pillars/user-outcomes needed to deliver value prop, to feature details

How:

  1. Workshop to map the basic funnel

  2. Workshop to map feature-set

  3. Recommendations

Step 3: UX audit

What:

Based on feature map, evaluating wireframes for

  1. the information architecture and navigation structure

  2. strength of value-delivery at key stages

  3. user-flows for deeper functionalities

  4. usability

How:

  1. Mapping the iA together (if needed), or recommendations

  2. Discussions as needed

  3. Feedback and annotated recommendations for wireframes

Timeline

  • 3-4 weeks

  • If team needs time to make refinements between steps, we can wait before continuing

Deliverables:

  • Shared whiteboarding workspace with all the notes, maps and recommendations in one place

  • Recommendations at wireframe level with annotations
